Cool Font CSS icons

Home > Blog

Recently, many web developers started to replace some images often loaded on their websites with CSS that mimics those images. This is really great for website optimization and is neat way to show anyone the pure power of CSS.

Any web designer knows the importance of icons, so here are two excellent libraries that can replace image icons with CSS icons 😉

Font Awesome is a free css icons package designed for Bootstrap . It contains over 350 scalable vector icons that can instantly be customized by size, color, drop shadow, and anything that can be done with the power of CSS.

Peculiar is a free icon package made only in CSS created by Lucian Marin. The package contains 45 CSS icons that are available in 16×16 pixels size. Peculiar is also iPad Retina-ready by default.

Pure CSS GUI Icons is an CSS experiment created by Nicolas Gallagher that uses pseudo-elements to create 84 simple GUI icons using CSS and semantic HTML.

I hope you find them useful as I do 😉
