Why you should consider Journal Society

Journal Society is a robust serif family designed by Heru Utama Putra and published by Timelesstype Studio. It merges strong, contemporary serifs with fluid italic styles, offering two distinctive styles to infuse personality and clarity into your design.

Visual character

The two-style family features boldly weighted serifs with sharp terminations and generous counters, enhancing legibility while projecting strength. Its italic counterpart introduces a playful angle with pronounced curves and subtle stroke contrasts, balancing firmness with a lively rhythm. The glyph set supports extensive Unicode variants including small caps and ligatures, ensuring typographic flexibility across languages and design needs.

Best use cases

• Poster headlines where bold impact is needed
• Editorial layouts requiring a strong typographic voice
• Web interfaces demanding clear, stylish headings

Font pairing ideas

• Pair with a clean sans serif like Open Sans to provide modern neutrality and contrast to the bold serifs
